CHATTANOOGA CHOO CHOO, TENNESSEE, USA (2006)

The first "Chattanooga Choo Choo" ran in 1880 from Cincinnati to Chattanooga (see photo immediately below).  The current station building, now a hotel, was opened in 1908.  The last train to Chattanooga ran in 1970, and the station was converted to a hotel in 1973.

These photographs were taken in September 2006.

The yellow rail car in the background takes passengers for rides on a U-shaped length of track.

The open station platform is well kept.  As can be seen, it was raining on the day we visited.

The covered platform provides access to various shops and a model railway layout.

This is the old railway station - a Holiday Inn hotel since 1973.
